Materials Needed

  • Yarn: 3 skeins of Facets™ Yarn by Loops & Threads® (worsted weight)
  • Knitting Machine: Sentro knitting machine
  • Accessories:
    • Stitch markers
    • Measuring tape
    • Crochet hook (for finishing edges if needed)
    • Hook & eye closures
    • Scissors

💡 Pro Tip: Make sure to test your tension and swatch first — it makes a huge difference in achieving a neat finish.

Step 1: Prepare Your Knitting Machine

  • Set up your Sentro machine and check that the needles are properly aligned.
  • Adjust the tension according to your yarn weight. I used a medium tension for Facets™ yarn.
  • Cast on the number of stitches needed for your cardigan size.

Step 2: Knit the Back Panel

  • Knit rows until the back reaches the desired length.
  • Keep your edges even — use stitch markers to mark the shoulder shaping points.

Step 3: Knit the Front Panels

  • Knit the right and left panels separately.
  • Shape the neckline by decreasing stitches gradually (as demonstrated in the video).
  • Make sure the panels mirror each other for symmetry.

Step 4: Knit the Sleeves

  • Knit sleeves to your desired length.
  • If you want a looser fit at the cuffs, slightly increase the number of stitches at the end.

Step 5: Assemble the Cardigan

  • Seam the shoulders and sides using a mattress stitch or crochet slip stitch.
  • Attach the sleeves to the armholes.
  • Add the hook & eye closures to the front edges.

💡 Pro Tip: Blocking your pieces before assembly makes the cardigan look polished and professional.

Tips & Tricks

  • Use stitch markers to track decreases and shaping — it prevents mistakes.
  • If your yarn is prone to splitting, knit slowly to avoid dropped stitches.
  • You can customize the length or width of the cardigan to your preference — just adjust the number of rows or stitches accordingly.
