Round 10 – Add Arms

  1. SC in the next 6 stitches.
  2. In the 7th stitch, work 4 HDCs into the stitch, remove your hook, insert it into the first HDC, reinsert the working loop, pull through, and CH 1 to secure the puff stitch.
  3. SC in the next 10 stitches.
  4. Repeat the puff stitch for the second arm.
  5. SC in the final 6 stitches. Slip stitch to the first stitch. Chain 1.

Rounds 11–13

SC in each stitch around. Go slowly around the puff stitch areas, working into the chain space created at the top of each arm.

Facial Details

Insert safety eyes between rounds 8 and 9, spacing them about 5 stitches apart. Use pink yarn and a darning needle to stitch small blush cheeks next to each eye. Tuck the yarn tail inside the ghost body — no cutting necessary.

Round 14 – Wavy Skirt (Front Loops Only)

In the front loop of each stitch:

  • (SC, HDC, SC) in one stitch
  • SL ST in the next stitch

Repeat this pattern around. The final two stitches should be slip stitches only.

Round 15 – Decreasing Base (Back Loops Only of Round 13)

Bend the wavy skirt upward to expose the back loops. Work into the back loops of Round 13 only:

  • 3 SC, DEC – repeat around

Slip stitch to the first stitch. Chain 1.

Round 16

SC, DEC – repeat around. Begin lightly stuffing the ghost with polyfill.

Round 17 – Final Row

DEC across the entire round. Slip stitch to the first stitch and leave a long tail. Fasten off and sew the bottom closed with a tapestry needle.

Glow Effect

Expose your finished ghost to sunlight or bright light for a few minutes. Turn off the lights to reveal the glow-in-the-dark yarn effect. It’s a fun and magical touch that kids and adults both enjoy.
